For those of you not glued to the television, Facebook or Instagram this weekend, the California Democratic Party held its Convention in San Francisco and the view from here was FANTASTIC. Many DemOC PAC members and officers were part of the event and many others from OC as well. The party elected its new State Chair, Rusty Hicks. Also at the convention was House Speaker Nancy Pelosi along with nearly all of the presidential candidates and Committee Chairs Maxine Waters and Adam Schiff.
And, at the Women's Caucus, introducing the Speaker of the House (she said "Oh, Hi Mom" as Nancy entered the room) was our next week's speaker, Christine Pelosi!
We are beyond thrilled to host an evening with Christine Pelosi, member of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and just re-elected chair of the Women's Caucus for the California Democratic Party. Christine will share with us her insights on an amazing state Convention as well as what is happening in Washington, with us.
With a glass-ceiling breaking FIVE women in the race,
will speak about:
“Democratic Women Leading the Way”
focusing on the
Women’s Caucus, the Attack on Roe v. Wade, Planned Parenthood,
Women’s Health and fully funding ACA.

|Dear DemOC PAC Members and Friends,|
|I hope everyone is well and surviving the daily onslaught of Trump. Every day, we are grateful that the Congress is run by Democrats, that 2020 is on the horizon, and that Nancy Pelosi leads the House. And, speaking of the Speaker, her daughter is our special guest at the very exciting event we are hosting in just two weeks!|

The news doesn't stop and its not good. The shootings continue. This last synagogue shooting, six months to the day after the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, is so painful. I firmly believe that the hate spewing from President Trump has unleashed a torrent of hate that targets Jews, Muslims, people of color, LGBTQ and anyone who is "different"...this is not the country that any of us wants to recognize. The work we are doing, to elect Democrats, to change the leadership at the top, to change our gun laws, to promote tolerance, is what we must do to stop this craziness and bring back the country we believe in.
I apologize that I didn't announce our speaker yesterday...my own life got in the way!
