Undoing Racism: Commitment to Change

´╗┐It has been a long time now since we have met in person and our country continues to change, rumble and roil in front of us. In response to the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and too many others, the ongoing and much-needed protests and the societal change we have seen, we have put together a program we are extremely excited about.

Undoing Racism: Commitment to Change

Tuesday, July 21
6:00 pm
Zoom link:

The evening program will offer presentations by Black leaders in our community about racism, anti-racism, and social accountability. As members of DemOC Pac, most of us are currently engaged in extensive reading and the watching of documentaries, seeking to take advantage of this moment in history to educate ourselves and raise our level of consciousness about racism. We strive to use our white privilege for the good and seek a better way forward. The presentations will focus on ways we can contribute to the formation of a just and equitable society, with a focus on what actions can be taken here in O.C.

Our presenters are:

Reverend Dr. Ralph E. Williamson

, pastor of Christ Our Redeemer (COR), African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), in Irvine
Gianna Drake-Kerrison, First Vice President-Wealth Management, Kerrison Wealth Management, UBS Financial Services, Inc., Newport Beach
Dr. Fred Calhoun, President, NAACP, Orange County Branch, Santa Ana
Kelsey Brewer, Chair, Orange County Young Democrats

Dear DemOC PAC Members and Friends,

Thank you to all who have made donations to DemOC PAC. With less than four months to go until the election, time is critical. Our plans are to "max out" to our local Congressional representatives and give as much as possible to Senate candidates around the country. I will send a separate email about that shortly. But there is no doubt that we must, must must win the Senate, keep the House and remove Donald Trump from office. Another four years is not possible.

While sheltering relatively alone, together we shoulder this burden for our society and the country we love. We shoulder it for the brothers and sisters in our country who have never been treated fairly or equally. We have cringed and cried and marched with them. We may not know exactly what they are feeling but we know what we feel about them. We want this to end. We want equality and fairness.

DemOC PAC has been here for more than 10 years, with barely any overhead. We are strategic, we give to federal candidates in Orange County and around the country where we think our dollars can make a real difference. We bundle so we have a bigger impact as a group. We run our volunteer organization professionally, and our members are smart.
