Blue Wave 2020 Postcarding Signup
We are less than 6 months away from the election. We are asking everyone who can to write postcards to Hold the House and Flip the Senate on November 3, 2020!

Round 1: Hold the House, Clean the House. We are starting our campaign now, with postcards to boost voter registration and turnout in 2 Congressional Districts to defeat Jim Jordan (Ohio) and Devin Nunes (Fresno, CA).
Round 2: Flip the Senate. We will do another batch of postcards in late June after the Kentucky and South Carolina primary elections, to help Ditch Mitch McConnell and Retire Lindsey Graham!
Round 3: Keep the OC Blue. If you aren’t already involved, we will transition to volunteering on campaigns (postcarding, phonebanking, etc.) for our OC incumbent Representatives in July.

Please sign up now at this link:
  • Your packets will include 20-30 postcards, addresses, suggested scripts, and instructions for returning your packet or having it collected.
  • We ask you to provide first class postage on each card if possible.
  • Some DemOC PAC members will be hosting postcard parties over Zoom; invitation to follow once you have signed up.
  • We will drop off packets to your house, or you can pick them up from Julie in Irvine if you prefer.
  • You will have about a week to complete your cards.
  • We will pick up the completed, stamped cards so that we can mail the cards via our contacts within Ohio and Fresno county (to get local postmarks).
Thanks again for volunteering your time to make a real difference in Holding and Cleaning the House!
Whose house? Our house!!!
In solidarity,

Harley Rouda

First, I hope everyone is well. That is the most important thing. Every day looks pretty much the same..for me, my garden is wonderful right now, giving me constant pleasure with the roses in full bloom. At the same time, we are all stuck at home. It's gotten to the point where I look forward to packages arriving LOL. I'm so lucky one of my daughter's is here so we can grocery shop and cook together. And just think, Gov. Newsom says if the numbers stay positive we will be able to open up some of the retail economy in the coming days. Remember to wear your mask :-)

We had an amazing ZOOM meeting with Congresswoman Katie Porter a few weeks ago. She was so generous with her time and her thoughts and all who tuned in really enjoyed the time spent. We are very lucky.

We are about to be lucky for the third time.....

We will be joined by
Congressman Harley Rouda!
Tuesday, May 12
6 pm

Zoom information follows. Please click on this early, as you must register for this meeting. Thanks so much!

There will be a Q&A following.

We look forward to seeing you Tuesday! As always, we are here for you. Please be in touch if you need anything including shopping, a trip to the drugstore, a chat, a mask or a new book or a puzzle. We can make it happen. Just reply to this email and let us know what you need. I promise to write back (if I miss an email please tap me on the shoulder.)

´╗┐Take good care and stay well.

Dear DemOC PAC Members and Friends,

Politics may be on the back burner of the news cycle, but the presidential election is less than 6 months away. Our work is more important than ever. Would we be prisoners in our homes, would literally thousands be dying every day (2,100 on 5/7) if Donald Trump were not president? If this pandemic had not been mishandled? If there was adequate testing?

The administration's criminal mishandling of the pandemic has made it more clear than ever that the Democrats MUST WIN the White House, the Senate and the House in November. We cannot let greed and corruption win. We can make a difference in key races with our dollars.

We need everyone to participate in this "Mayday" fundraising drive. If you have already joined, many, many thanks. We are asking you to get or give another $120 (or more) by the end of the month. Get a friend or family member to join or donate the amount again yourself if you can (in a lump sum or monthly)

If you haven't joined, what are you waiting for?
Please join now!!

Thank you so much. We are hoping to hold special  fundraising events through the summer and fall, but in the meantime, every Zoom event is special. We are grateful to be together, safe, well and that we have created such an important and meaningful community.

Thank you in advance for your generosity. We are looking forward to making more donations to candidates over the next 6 months, and to helping Democrats win in 2020!

Call to Action!

Dear DemOC PAC Members and Friends,

We had the most fantastic Zoom meeting on Tuesday night with the amazing Congresswoman Katie Porter. I will send a newsletter about that in a few days but in the meantime, we have a Call to Action and I wanted to get this out to you ASAP:
In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, some of our members have been involved in grassroots efforts to help those most in need in Orange County. If you would like to be a part of these efforts, there are 2 supply chains you can be a part of. Both efforts will likely continue through June, if not beyond.
  • There are more unhoused and unsheltered people in Orange County now than there were before the outbreak. We are asking for supplies for courageous volunteers making rounds to unsheltered individuals, and those who are in shelter but without food. Most needed supplies include: protein bars, gatorade, wet wipes in small packs (any kind), first aid gauze pads, prepackaged single antibiotic wipes. Supplies can be delivered or dropped to the front porch c/o Lita Robinow, 6 Brisbane Way, Irvine, CA 92612. 714-293-2181 (If you are dropping to the front porch, leave it inside the walk near the bench or in that area between 9 am and 8 pm. Don't mind the barking dog and wave hello!)

  • People with sewing skills, Making Masks Central OC has been providing volunteer-made masks for medical and other front line workers, as well as high-risk populations. They have materials that can be picked up at several locations. Contact Julie Tapp, to request to sew or for additional information (you can find the group on facebook as well).

ear DemOC PAC Members and Friends,

Our "new normal" of sheltering in place can get a little tedious and I have to admit there are days when choosing between taking a walk and cooking as my most exciting activities does get a little old. But being a member of DemOC PAC keeps it interesting. On Tuesday night, we had a fantastic meeting with Congressman Mike Levin. As always, he was articulate, smart and so informative...we talked about COVID-19, the bailout monies, the deficit and national debt ($30 trillion??), testing, and the USPS (Gerry Connolly from Virginia has always been a strong advocate).

Next Tuesday, our guest is a local rockstar....on any day you can find her on one of the shows on MSNBC, CNN and she was recently featured on Samantha Bee!

We are so excited to be joined by
Congresswoman Katie Porter!!

We are excited about our first Zoom meeting this Tuesday with
Congressman Mike Levin!!
